Application Eligibility
- Applicants must be ethnic compatriot students born overseas who have continuously resided abroad to date, or who have recently continuously resided overseas for at least six years and have obtained permanent or long-term residency documents in their place of residence. Their status must be verified by an overseas recommending unit. The six-year continuous overseas residence period is calculated backward from the application deadline specified in this brochure.

Applicants must meet one of the following Mandarin proficiency requirements:
- Achieve Level A1 or above in the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), excluding the TOCFL Quick Screening Test.
- Hold a graduation certificate from a Malaysian overseas compatriot school (Chinese primary school, independent high school, or national-type secondary school), or have passing Mandarin grades for at least two semesters from one of the above schools. In this case, TOCFL results may be waived.
- Applicants must possess good moral character.
- Applicants must have educational qualifications that meet the admission requirements of the program they are applying for.
- Applicants who previously had household registration in Taiwan must not hold a Republic of China (Taiwan) passport bearing the endorsement "Military service not yet fulfilled."
